Aakrosh – The movie
I watched Aakrosh, a bollywood thriller, yesterday. Directed by Priyadarshan, the movie stars Ajay Devgan, Akshay Khanna, Paresh Raval, Bipasha Basu and Reema Sen in lead roles.
With the story line which is set in the interior of Bihar, the movie is about three college students from Delhi who go missing in a remote Bihari Town and the two CBI officers (Ajay Devgan and Akshay Khanna) who were assigned to the investigation. The film unveils the dark side of cast politics and bureaucracy which suppresses the general public and it showcases the helplessness of the hapless people who live a life under a shadow of fear. Also does the film show how politicians, police, mafia and the bureaucrats function in a network for organized crime and the way they hinder the CBI officers in every step of investigation.
The movie is a work of fiction (Later, today I came to know that it is a remake of 1988 Hollywood thriller Mississippi Burning) however there are plenty of similar true stories which all of us are heard of. The stories of honor killings in northern India, the men who killed the boy for loving a girl from different cast, the families that fight for generations over a minor dispute ; the stories of hatred are aplenty.
Now coming to the movie, Aakrosh is worth watch for people who love suspense thrillers. Also one might want to watch it for getting an insight about the mafia based politics and bureaucracy of Bihar and neighboring states of northern India. Do not be surprised if you feel a vague resemblance between Aakrosh and Gangajal.
BTW, I watched the whole movie in YouTube boxoffice. (www.youtube.com/boxoffice).
The streaming was really fast and uninterrupted.
