How to sync subtitles with audio in VLC media player?

Many a times we end up downloading subtitles that do not go in sync with audio. The whole movie watching experience will become frustrating because of this. I myself was under this situation lot many times and spent hours on net searching for the right subtitles. But here is an easy solution if you are using VLC media player.

VLC player has an embedded feature to synchronize the subtitles with audio.

1. Note down the time when subtitles appear.
2. note down the time when the dialog starts playing for the related subtitle.
3. Calculate the time difference between above two.
4. Right click on VLC player window, go to interface, go to track synchronization. Input the above calculated value in “Advance of subtitles over video” box.
The subtitles will now play in sync with audio.

Have a great movie watching experience.
